Abdominal CT Scan

Abdominal CT Scan

Hi-
I was diagnosed with DCIS with less than 1mm of a microinvasion (stage T1mic) node negative breast cancer January 2008.  Had lumpectomy and radiation.

For the past few months I've been having left sided pain in the area just below my (non cancer side) breast. The pain starts in the rib area (where the breast ends) but goes about an 1-2" below the rib area and wraps around to the back. I've had 2 upper upper endoscopies which came back positive for the H.Pylori bacteria both times so I had 2 different treatments. My symptoms improved only slightly after treatment so my doctor ordered an abdominal and pelvic CT scan scheduled for this Wednesday to rule everything out. Now I'm worried that the scan may not cover the right areas.

Does the abdominal CT scan start at the ribs where the breast ends or does it start below the ribs?
Any input would be appreciated. Thank You.

I would think the scan would include the area you describe but if you think otherwise why not give you Physician a call and see if he would order it to include the chest area? Some of the abdominal organs are tucked up under the lower ribs anyway and I'm sure would be included.
