Any Advice

As alot of you know I had surgery a couple of months back for Fibroadenoma, all went fine.Right before the mammo & since I have had this terrible itching in both breasts that i have never had in my entire life.I would think nothing of it if it was just the breast that I had surgery on,but both?It is so bad that I wake up scratching so hard that both breasts are
very irratated.Has anyone had this happen or can offer any advice?

Thanks
Lisa

Hi Lisa,

The skin on the beasts is like skin on any part of the body and is subject to developing a variety of abnormalities.  Things to consider, given that this is happening to both breasts are whether you are using any new soaps, lotions, fabric detergents, bras etc.  These are common causes of itching. To better evaluate this itching you may want to see a dermatologist or your family doctor who will prescribe something to alleviate the itching.Take care...

Thanks Zouzi, once again for the advice.I guess I have got myself a liitle worked up thinking about IBC I have heard that is one of the symtoms (symptoms) & can sometimes go undeteced in mamo & ultrasound? Is that true?If it is how do ladies find out they have it?
I will make a appointment it is really bothersome.

Blessings....Lisa

IBC is one of the symptoms, but I don't think that this is your problem since the itchiness is on both your breasts. It is also true that IBC sometimes can go undetected with Mammogram and Ultrasound but a skin biopsy or an MRI will detect it.Also IBC has many other symptoms and the doctor would certainly proceed with more tests, especially if the breast feels hot to the touch, is swollen and the skin looks like  "Peau d'orange" ( Like an orange skin). Please do make an appointment with your doctor...or dermatologist.Blessing to you too Lisa ... take care.
