Atypical Lobular Hyperplasia...Cancer?

Hi After a stereotactic biopsy, I was told I have ALH that showed on one slide? They recommend an excisional biopsy.
This all started with calcifications found on my mammo.  
Would you please estimate my chances of cancer being found on the ex. biopsy? If it is, what kind is most likely? I am so scared that I cannot think straight. Thanks in advance.

Atypical ductal hyperplasia is not cancer nor is it a pre-cancerous lesion. But it does mean that the individual is predisposed to increased risk of cancer.

Atypical lobular hyperplasia has high chances of developing into cancer in the future.

For you to understand it - this means that there is an area (focal) from the duct of the breast (ductal) of an increased number of cells than usual (hyperplasia) that look different than normal breast tissue (atypical).

Tamoxifen is known to decrease the risk of developing cancer in the future in patients with Atypical lobular hyperplasia.

Talk to your oncologist in detail about this and clear out any doubts that you have.

It would be best to follow the management plan as advised by your specialist.
