Awaiting appy for core/biopsy

I recently has a sono.mammo. The report says I have three complex cysts and one ill-defined solid lobular mass 0.3cm x 0.3cm x 0.7cm (think that means taller than wider). The radiologist gave me a bi-rads 4. Any info would be apprecaited. I just want to get the biopsy done and over with. Is small a goos sign? Can the complex cyst be related to the solid mass? Being that I had both sono and mammo done is it more likly i have BC?

I have had a cyst in my breast for several years. When I get it checked now , they have a special type of mamo they do . It has always checked out non cancer. If they were even a fraction sure it might be cancer, they would biopsy. think good things. Don't jump the gun.

A  BI-RADS score 4,just means that the solid nodule is suspicious and nothing more than that.
The Ultrasound you had, was done to differentiate between a cyst and a solid lump and not because it's thought to be breast cancer.
If your BI-RADS score was 5,then the lump would have been considered highly suspicious and could have indicated malignancy.
Normally a solid lump in the breast has to be biopsied particularly if the mass is ill defined,but keep in mind that many BI-RADS score 4 return a benign finding and so do complex cysts.
I wouldn't jump to any conclusion right now by thinking of the worst...
Having a small lump is certainly better than having a large one,but only a biopsy can really tell the true nature of this lump which I hope will be found to be BENIGN!

A cyst is a fluid-filled sack and  by definition is benign.

A COMPLEX cyst is also fluid filled, but has solid structures (walls or septations) within the cyst.  They can be more difficult to aspirate since areas of fluid may be separated into compartments.  A COMPLEX cyst is sometimes cancer, but usually not. A complex cyst should be biopsied because it will on occasion be an intracystic cancer.
