BI-RADS 4 - Suspicious

BI-RADS 4 - Suspicious

I had a mammo and ultra sound of my left breast.  There is no cancer in my family.  I am the first one ever to suddenly have come up with a cyst, which the radiologist says is a BI-RADS 4 - Suspicious.  I am 52.  On June 19, I started taking Glucusomine 2000 mg. by Schiffs, which contains Soy Lecithin.  I could not connect my heavy eye twitching to this medication, since I was very happy as the Glucosomine had completely healed my knee, however, now that I think back, this med was apparently affecting my nervous system.  I think I am either very allergic to Soy Lecithin or the soy in this product was very estrogenic to my breasts.  I have taken a total of 47 tablets to date..  Now that a lump has formed in my breast and the doctor thinks that I have a 23% to 34% chance that this is breast cancer?  After menupause, my breasts had no feelings in them whatsoever, and now they are both very painful and the left lump is especially painful.   Biopsy is next week. Would you pls. tell me whether this could just be a bi-product of that extra estrogen from the soy lecithin?    Other things the radiologist says is :"On ultrasound 2:00, N+5 region, the are of the palpable lump, there is a hypoechoic mass, with irregular borders, approx. 1.6 cm, suspicious.  The axillary region was surveyed and it appears unremarkable.  On the mammo, there is a density in the left breast at 2:00, which appears unchanged since the prior study".  The one thing to note is that they did see the density in the left breast at 2:00 which seems unchanged?  Is that good?  I feel the pain as if this is a cyst, but the US technician told the doc. that she could not see any colors inside the cyst, it was all dark black, I saw it too.  I am thinking there are only two reasons for the pain, either it is really a fluid filled cyst, or that the cancer is at an advanced level that the pain has now started, since I heard that cancer doesn't really hurt at first.  Please give me your thoughts.

Dear veryworriedgirl:  There is no way to speculate on whether the soy lecithin has anything to do with this finding.  Pain is not common in breast cancer.  A biopsy is likely the only way to determine what this is.

The reason I know that Soy Lecithin was the culprit is because of two things.  One was that my left eye was twitching the entire time I was taking the pills.  And my breasts were swollen and wouldn't fit in my bras.  I even bought a bigger size bra.  The minute I stopped the pills, my eye stopped twitching and my breasts have gone down to near normal size.  The swollen pain is gone.  The pain or burning which I feel now is a different sensation than the other pain which was there when I was taking the soy lecithin.  It is very clear to me that that product was the culprit.  I wouldn't be surprised if that has caused my lump, by activating my estrogen receptor cells.

Please tell me, how can I know if I have estrogen receptor cells active?  Why does it affect some women and not others?  Can extra bad estrogen cause cancer, or would one have to have cancer type cells?  I just don't understand anything.

My results will come out tomorrow. In the meantime, I have no peace of mind.  Please help me.  Thanks.
