REGARDING MY HER2 STATUS--IT IS NEGATIVE AND ALSO IN REGARDS TO THE HORMONE QUESTION AND TALKING TO MY DOC ABOUT IT ---I AM SO LUCKY TO HAVE THE ONCOLOGIST THAT I HAVE BECAUSE WE REALLY WORK WELL TOGETHER AND POSING QUESTONS TO HIM IS NOT DIFFICULT OR THREATING TO ME AT ALL--HE MAKES ME FEEL VERY COMFORTABLE --EVEN IF THE QUESTIONS MIGHT SOUND SILLY--HE LET ME KNOW ON THE FIRST DAY THAT NO QUESTION IS SILLY OR DUMB .... I JUST KNOW MEDICINE VERY WELL--ESPECIALLY ONCOLOGY ---AND ONE OF THE BEST THINGS ANY PATIENT DEALING WITH CANCER IS TO KEEP WELL INFORMED THROUGH OTHER SOURCES---(WHETHER IT BE OTHER PATIENTS AND THEIR EXPERIECES AND OR OTHER DOCTORS THAT ARE COMING FROM DIFFERENT WALKS OF LIFE IN ONCOLOGY.... ESPECIALLY---THE DOC'S THAT WORK IN A RESEARCH HOSPITAL..AGAIN --THANKS BLUEBUTTERFLY FOR THE INFO. ON THE BC FORUM CONNECTION AND CLARIFYING REMISSION VS. NED... HAVE A GREAT WEEK TO YOU AND EVERY ONE ELSE READING THIS MESSAGE........
I followed your other post and noted that you got a few responses from other community members. I hope these were of some help.
I also noted that you have not posted in the BC Expert Forum; if you want to do that and need additional help, let us know.
You would probably have betters results, though, asking the doctor who is recommending the hormone supressing agent(s) your excellent questions about how important this would be in view of your ER- status and cardiac hx, since (s)he would have all the details of your particular situation.
You didn't mention whether you were told your HER2 status. As you probably know (since it sounds as though you've been working hard on making yourself knowledgeable about the whole complicated BC tx subject), that can have implications regardind tx as well.
Best wished for continue NED status!
JUST A SHORT NOTE TO THANK-YOU FOR YOUR COMMENT--HAVE A GREAT DAY !!!! --KAREN
As mentioned in my reply to your other post, if you want a doctor's response you need to post i in the BC Expert Forum (see the "Related Expert Forums" box to the right of you post). It may take up to five days to get a reply from a doctor, so don't think you're being ignored if you don't get a prompt reply.
Good luck!
