Bi-Lateral Mastectomies, no reconstuction follow up

I am coming up on 1 year after bi-lateral mastectomies, but after difficult/unsuccessful tissue expanders,I remain unreconstructed and I need to know how I should be followed up now? What/where do I self exam?
Do I go back to the "breast specialist/surgeon" for her to order mammograms or xrays or mri or what?
It was non-invasive and no nodes involved. My mother had 2 mastectomies (no radiation just Tamoxifen) and it seems there was no type of followup involved until she began showing symptoms of Ovarian cancer which took her life.

Dear carme, You should follow-up with your breast specialist/surgeon.  They will talk with you about how you have been feeling, any concerns, any symptoms etc.  They will also do a physical exam, examining the incision area, feeling for any changes.  As you have had mastectomies, mammograms would not be necessary.  Other testing would be done as necessary to follow-up concerning symptoms or findings on physical exam.
