BiRad Cat 4-suspicious abnormality

BiRad Cat 4-suspicious abnormality

Hi
I am glad to hear other people are freaked out about the "not knowing". I am 35 went in for a baseline mammo-with no previous problems or family history and they found a nodule after two mammos and a sonogram. I am now scheduled for a biospy. There was a 0.8cm hypoechoic nodule found. The radiologist said it "may represent a small solid nodule or cyst with debris" What do that mean? Hard to find info on it. I am scared that it is a "suspicous abnormality" and what that means. Anyone else ever have this?
The statistics are all over the place as far as percentages of it being cancer that I can't trust any of them. The waiting is torture, I don't go for another week.
Any feedback would be appreciated!

Dear CCDCBailey;  The BIRAD scale is a scale used by many radiologists to rate findings on a mammogram or ultrasound.  The scale goes from 1-5 with one being normal to five as highly suspicious.  A BIRAD category of 4 is a suspicious abnormality and further evaluation of this abnormality (a biopsy) is recommended.   A cyst is a fluid filled structure that is usually a benign (non-cancerous) finding. Finding debris (solid particles in the fluid) or a solid nodule may be more suspicious, thus the recommendation for the biopsy.
