I recently just had my Mammogram and after 2 tries and 2 ultrasounds they found scattered fibroglandular densities 25- 50% glandular. Small vague density seen in superior portion left breast measuring 3 mm in size. Ultrasound revealed 4 - 5 mm hypoechoic rounded nodule with low level internal echoes. a smaller 4mm comples septated cyst is seen near the region as well. Bi-Rads category 3. Will my surgeon automatically want to do a biopsy of this. I do feel one of them under my left nipple. I have had a biopsy done before that was a fibroadenoma. My mother and aunt are breast cancer survivors. My mother had to have a bilateral mystectomy done. Any opinions on whether I should automatically request the biopsy or just wait....
I understand your worry but am sure that if your doctors, or the radiologist was even the slightest bit concerned, they would recommend further scans and/or biopsy.
I think it is OK to tell your doctor about the way you are feeling, but I really think he/she knows in this case what is the right thing, or not to do.
I would follow their advice but ask questions until you feel more confident. You do have a right to a second opinion of course but to me their judgement sounds right.
I hope you feel better soon, one way or another.
