Biopsy pain?

I have to go for a fine needle biopsy and cannot find anyone who mentions how much pain is associated with this procedure.  The clinic tells me they do not give any local anethestia nor topical.  I am worried this will be quite painful and wondered if anyone can tell me their experience!  Thanks.

I have had a number of needle biopsys and found they were not that uncomfortable.  I have had anesthetic injected first to numb the area but found that it was actually more painful then just taking the needle and removing the fluid from the cyst without anesthetic.  It was no more painful than getting an injection.

Dear mickietus:  Most women report some discomfort.  As you know, the experience of pain varies from person to person.  Also techniques vary.  Since you are interested in the experiences of others, we'll post and ask for comments.
