Birad 0 incomplete

I am 60 years old.  I have never had a recall on a mammagram before.  Recently I went in and it came back with a Birad 0 abnormal incomplete and I require additional views and possible US.  I called the breast clinic and talked to a staff person who said that the reason was for a wrinkle in the tissue.  My mother had breast cancer but no one else in my family on both sides have had breast cancer.  What does this result mean.   I have been on vacation and it will be a month (4 weeks) before I get a follow-up screening.  I cannot feel that there is a thickening in my breast but my breasts have been bumpy.  Thanks for your help.

Dear tippy248:   It is not uncommon for a mammogram to identify a density.  In these cases, a person would be called back for spot compression and possible ultrasound.  In many cases tissue could have folded over on itself in the mammogram and it will resolve with spot compression.  If the abnormality persists, then additional workup will be recommended.
