Birads 3 nodular density

Birads 3 nodular density

I am 46, and recently had my yearly mammo.  It says "persistent nodular density right inferior breast, slightly more prominent in size than that seen previously.  Recommend followup examination of the right breast at six months with 90-degree lateral view, to exclude any change in this small nodule".  Rather than wait six months, my gynocologist had me see a general surgeon, who showed me my mammogram, and pointed out the gray-looking spot that was about the size of 1/2 of the little eraser on top of a pencil on last year's mammo. On this year's, it bigger - more like the size of the full eraser on top of a pencil.  I shouldv'e asked how may cm. in size it is.  The report doesn't list the size anywhere.  The gen. surgeon is having me go for an ultrasound next week, just to double check it.  On my left side, in the past; I had fluid-filled cysts that looked different.  I was looking at white things on the mammogram, that she said were just fibrous tissue, and then pointed out the gray spot.  I also had an adenomous colon polyp removed last year; and even after a hysterectomy, kept having abnormal paps, and bleeding from my cervix - so that was removed last year, during a cystocele, rectocele, and enterocele repair with bladder sling.  I feel like I am falling apart - at only 46!  Is there any connection to adenomous colon polyps that can turn cancerous, and developing breast cancer?  I sure hope not.  Any information would be appreciated.

With a BIRADS 3 score a follow-up in either 3 or 6 months is standard recommendation. I'm not sure why your GYN thought differently but perhaps the appnt. with the Surgeon is a good idea. I wouldn't be surprised if a biopsy might be the next step after your Ultrasound. I see no connection between your colon problem ... breast tumors/cysts aren't usually related to tumors or cysts in any other part of the body. I don't think you're falling apart but things do seem to come in bunches, don't they ?? By the way a pencil eraser is about 0.7 cm
