Birads 4 after normal mammo and abnormal ultrasound

I am post menopausal.  Was on HRTfor 20 plus years. Went off after uterine cancer dx, stage 1A/1. Had hysterectomy Nov. 2009.  Had my first mammogram and ultrasound in four years last week. Mammogram perfectly normal.  Ultrasound impression: "new left breast area of shadowing measuring 0.3cm. Although this could represent effects of a new macrocalcifiation because of the patient's history of uterine carcinoma, further eval. via biopsy to cofmr the above impression will be performed.  Bi-rads final assessment category. was a 4 which freaked me out because the radioglosit seemed very positive that this was benign.  I had the biopsy and am now waiting the dx. Am extremely anxious now because of the Birads 4 assessment after radiologist was very reassuring about the benign dx.  Any comments would be appreciated. I pressed him further and he said that if I had not had the uterine cancer dx, he would have watched and in three months would have followed up with further testing, but he wanted to do the biopsy. Had FNA last Thursday. Share
