Black/grey milk...

Black/grey milk...

OK, a little backgroung, I am 30, and nursed all 3 of my children.  The last time I nursed was 5 years ago.

I was bathing the other day and I noticed when I put preassure on my right breast, that there was something coming out of 2 of the ducts - the bottom one, the discharge was a normal milky color - the top one, it was a VERY DARK GREY, almost black!

Nothing will come out of my left breast, even if squeezed.  I am EXTREMELY concerned about this, and have no idea what could cause such a thing! - Any clues?

And what kind of doctor would specialize in something like this?

Dear anamri:  Many women have some type of nipple discharge or fluid when their breasts are squeezed, and its normal. Squeezing the nipple sends message to the brain and the pituitary gland responds by increasing prolactin levels, which in turn produces discharge from the nipple. The discharge can come in a variety of colors - gray, green and brown as well as white. The time to worry about nipple discharge is when it
