Both nipples itchy, flakey, and watery?

Both nipples itchy, flakey, and watery?

Hi. i am 21 years old.
i had a baby 1 1/2 years ago.
and i have a itchy nipple problem. this problem started before i have gotten pregnant, about 4 years ago? (yes, i know i should go see a doctor.. but i have no insurance, and its hard to meet ends for me)
it started out with my right nipple, like a itchy pimple? and then the pimple spread out throughout my whole right nipple(the whole areola). about half a year later my left nipple got the same problem. since then both my nipples (the whole nipple) hasnt changed,
its really itchy, its sort of uncontrollable. i have tried changing detergents to a sensitive one, i have changed my bras, and my pharmacist friend has given me hydrocortisone cream (from Fougera?) and i have used 3 whole tubes, it will help with the itch when i apply it, but the rash and itch comes right back in about couple hours. it waters(?) where when i take off my bra to shower, my nipple skin would have harden onto my inner bra and i would have to carefully rip it off, and it will be watery (im not quite sure its puss) I now put tissue on, so that it would not stick onto my bra.
both my nipples are VERY sensitive to touch, it does not hurt untill i scratch it. i was wondering, if anyone knew what it might be. i do have somewhat of sensitive skin. people have told me it can be eczema? or paget's disease. which is a form of breast cancer, right?
This has totally ruined my sex life. i feel unconfident withmyself, because i wont be able to ever take off my bra. or itll water and itch. i am saving up to see a doctor. but i am not sure which doctor i am supposed to go see? a dermatologist?? or is there a different special doctor that deals with women's breast? Oh, and i have never recieved a mammography (i think thats what its called.)
if Somone can help it. it would be so greatly appreciated . Thanks so much. =)

Hi there.

From the way you described the problem, it seems that all the conditions that you are thinking about are possible.  Common causes for this would include infections with bacteria or with fungus.  Fungal infections usually manifest with eczema like lesions, scaling, and itchiness.  This can be diagnosed by performing a test called the KOH smear where they scrape a portion of the lesion and examine it under the microscope for fungal elements.  Paget's disease, though uncommon, can present in the same way as you are experiencing and diagnosis can be made through a biopsy procedure.  A dermatologist consult is recommended.  For the meantime, keep the area dry and avoid any trauma.

Regards and God bless.
