Brease Cancer and Eye Symptom

by Concerned1105, Nov 05, 2007 07:32PM
My sister had breast cancer 5 years ago and went thru surgery and chemo therapy. She is now cancer free. However I noticed about 2 months ago that her right eye is noticeably bigger than her left eye. I read on the web that may be symptom of thyroid problem or the presence of tumor. I don't want to alarm her but I am really concerned and would appreciate some advice. Thanks.

Hi,
You should suggest her to get annual mammograms on the advise of her physician. She should also report any symptoms she notices in relation to breast tenderness, discharge etc. She should get her clinical evaluation done for the difference in size of the two eyes, this could be an eye infection or some insect bite maybe. A clinical evaluation by a physician will help in diagnosis of the condition. There is no cause of alarm as breast tumour does not metastatsize to the thyroid gland.
