Breast Cancer Metastasis

Hi, My mom has Breast Cancer that has spread to her bones, she is 69 years old in fairly good health however, she went thru chemo for Ovarian Cancer 10 years ago, then again 5 years ago. Now she is going thru Radiation for a spot on the base of her neck for 15 days then she will go thru Chemo. What is her prognosis?

Dear Debs33:  It is not possible to speculate on how long a person will live.  This will depend upon her response to therapy and how the disease behaves.  Her doctor, based on a thorough evaluation, may be able to provide an educated guess as to her prognosis, but we cannot do this via the internet.

If you go to AdjuvantOnline, you can put in your Mum's status (get it from her path reports) and this will give you her prognosis - but remember this is based on many women and not indicative of what actually will happen to your Mum - it is just a guide. My Oncologist used this to get my Nottingham Prognostic Index - 4.4 - so kind of middling., with an 80% chance of survival in 10 yrs if I had chemo,rads and hormonal therapy, which I did.
