Breast Cancer

Hi! I just had my mammogram and ultrasound done on 2/18/2011 and the results were: 1.5 cm lobulated cysts with a thickened wall in the right breast at 9'0 clock posterior depth. This lobulated cyst is of mixed echogenicity. Color flow imaging demonstrates that there is no vascularity present.
Another cystst is 1.1 cm lobulated mass in the right breast at 9'0 clock anterior depth. This lobulated mass is of mixed echogenicity. Color flow imaging demonstrates that there is no vascularity present.
Another cyst is a 5mm oval mass in the right breast at 9' o clock anterior depth. This oval mass is of mixed echoegenicity. Color flow imaging demonstrates that there is no vascularity present.
My question is, Are these results mean cancerous. I hope you can answer  my querries. Thanks a lot and more power. hurtie

I wouldn't be concerned about the wait to see the Breast Specialist. The report states that the suspicion for cancer is LOW. Biopies are usually recommended when the statement "benign" cannot be made with 100% certainty. It is rare that a diagnosis can be made without a biopsy of some type. The Specialist also may have a different opinion after reviewing your films or may choose to biopsy all three findings. Knowing "for sure" is a good thing .... finding cancer in 3 areas of the same breast would be more than unusual .... rare in fact. I feel that IF the suspicion for cancer were high your appointment would be sooner than the one you have been given. I wouldn't stress myself too much just yet ... waiting is the worst though; just ask anyone who has been through it.   Take care .....

Hi! This is in connection with my querries dated March 8, 2011 about the result of my breast sonogram dated 2/18/2011. To give you the full idea, herewith is the list of the findings and recommendations of the radiologist, to wit:
1. The 1.5 cm. lobulated cyst in the right breast at 9'0 clock posterior depth appears to have a low suspicion for malignancy. An ultrasound guided biopsy is recommended;
2. The 1.1 cm lobulated mass in the right breast at 9'0 clock anterior depth appears to have a low suspicion for malignancy. An ultrasound guided biopsy is recommended; and
3. The 5 mm oval mass in the right breast at 9'o clock anterior depth appears to have a low suspicion for malignancy. An utlrasound guided biopsy is recommended.
My primary Doctor referred me to the Breast Clinic and my appointment will be on April 14, 2011.Right now,  I am emotionally scared that if ever it is cancerous might spread to the other organs like the neck, armpit, bone and the brain if I will wait that long to see Breast Clinic Doctor. I hope you can enlighten me on this matter. Once again, thank you a million times and more power. Hurtie

In addition to what you have posted here I'm sure there was more information in the Radiology report. These are referred to as cysts even though some are lobulated there is no vascularity in any of them. I would think that some recommendation for further investigation was added to the report but you should discuss the entire report in detail with your prescribing Physician. I see nothing in the report that indicates cancer .... unless you have not posted the entire report. Most Radiology reports have an opinion at the bottom of the page along with any recommendation for further action.   Regards ....
