Breast Cyst and Birth Controll

Recently discovered that I have a breast cyst however my surgeon has told me to leave it alone for now because it's not big. I am thinking about starting birth control pill but heard they can make the cyst bigger. Is this true? Asked my surgeon and she recommended NOT taking birth controll. My gynecologist said that this shouldn't be problem. I am a little confused.
I also read that the estrogen in birth control pills has that affect. Are birth control pills lower in estrogen safter?
Please advise.

Your question regarding cysts and effects of birth control are best directed to your doctors who can help you to weigh risks and benefits in your individual situation.
