Breast Dimple

Hi,  

About 3 weeks ago, I noticed a dimple the size of a fingertip in my right breast, between the nipple area and armpit.  It now seems a bit larger in size and I've also noticed an indentation on my areola when I raise my arms.  My breast also seems to almost "shrivel" a little in that area when I raise my arm.  I am 32 years old, have 3 children ages 12 years, 3 years, and 8 months old.  The only history of breast cancer is my mother's aunt who ultimately had both breasts removed.  Should I be concerned?

Dear leesburgmom:  If these dimples represent a change, you should probably have them evaluated by your doctor.

Recommend you have your "dimple" checked ASAP by a doctor - as that is how I discovered my stage II tumor - in same location!  Ended up being nearly 3 cm Stage II (though was not a hard lump - and had been missed by doctors in annual check-ups for some time) - I was just 50 and had never had a mammogram!  After mastectomy, chemo and radition - all clear now - 3 years later - on tamoxifen and getting on with life!
