Breast Discomfort after Lumpectomy

Breast Discomfort after Lumpectomy

I had a lumpectomy about 6 months ago. The breast sometimes feels heavy and dense with some pain.
The pain starts at the incision site, (edge of nipple) and radiates down a little.  I have been told that this is normal and that it should go away in 12-24 months.  I'd like to know if there is something I can do at home to speed up this process?  Hot packs, massage......????

Dear matm:  Sometimes the healing process just takes time.  There may be some things you could try, but we recommending checking with your doctor about which he/she feels would be appropriate in your situation.

It's always the same.....check with your doctor.
It is frustrating that the experts on this forum can't/won't help.
Aren't you a doctor????

Is anybody else willing to share information on this subject?
