Breast Issues

I am 26 years old, and I have been on hormone replacement since my hysterectomy a year and a half ago. I just recently started having chest pains on the left side on the top of my breast. I also have a lot of little lumps in both breasts. My left breast has a hard area where it feel stiff and lumpy. My breast also appear to be getting swolen and sort of mishaped. Is this something to be alarmed about?

This study was published some time ago; I'm amazed that traditional HRT is still being prescribed. I think you would be wise to get a second opinion regarding HRT in your case; especially since you are so young. Regards .....

Thanks for the pointers. That is really weird to know now. The doctors raised my dosage of hormone, and told me that I would be on it for the rest of my life. So to know that it can increase the risk of breast cancer is totally new to me. Thanks again.

Hormone replacement therapy is rarely used since it was proven to increase the risk of breast cancer by a considerable amount. When it is used it is at the lowest dose possible and for the shortest time necessary. I would certainly see either your Dr. or a Breast Specialist for a clinical breast exam and possibly an Ultrasound to determine what is causing the symptoms you describe.   Regards .....
