Breast MRI results, should I have a biopsy?

Breast MRI results, should I have a biopsy?

I had breast cancer in my right breast Oct.2004. Actually 2 cancers, .4cm and .6 cm. Had Lumpectomy, 1 node positive out of 14. 4 rounds of AC, dose dence, 1 rounce T. and radiation. I just had a breast MRI on Thurs. It showed a 3 mm. enchanment on the right breast, called it probably benign, looks like a lymph node and 2 radioligist recommend repeat MRI in 4 months.  Do you recommend waiting 4 months or doing a neddle biopsy now, given my history?  I am very nervous.

Dear remy:  An MRI is a very sensitive test but also produces a reasonable number of false positive results.  With two radiologists interpreting the abnormality as "probably benign,"  it may be reasonable to wait the four months.  However, no test is perfect.  So if you are uncomfortable, you should discuss the findings and options with your surgeon.  Without the ability to review the films and the details of your situation, it is impossible to make a specific recommendation.

Hi:

I've has a bloody secretion from my left breat for about a year, I recently had a more invasive procedure, where a small tube with dye was inserted and the x-ray was reviewed.  I saw a surgeon, he has scheduled something like a biopsy to obtain a sample of the growth and it will be sent to a pathologist.  He informs me that it is probably benign however, he can't ignore it an will need to get it tested.  I'm concerned about this procedure can you give me your thoughts?  Is this a common problem?  Any information you can offer will be very helpful.  Thank You
