Breast Pain

My question really doesn't fit into any of the categories above -as it is not related to breast cancer:

Over the last year & a half, I have had breast surgery twice on my right breast.  The first was to remove a duct and a papilloma and the second surgery (because I continued to have problems)was to remove all the ducts.

My last surgery was in April of this year.  I have not had problems with the fact that the breast has been tender since the surgery, but today I woke up with significant pain in that breast to the point where it is very hard to even touch it.  The pain also seems to be moving down my arm a bit.

I have had one breast infection in the past shortly before I was diagnosed with the papilloma & had the initial surgery.  It does not look the same as it did then, but it is very, very painful.  I took Ibuprofen this morning to help out and it seemed to help, but am not sure if this is something I should be concerned about or not.

I am 50 years old and am still menstruating, although, my periods have become more erratic as of late.

Do you think this is something I should bring to the attention of my doctor?  I don't like to get alarmed at this type of thing without just cause.

Thanks so much.

Dear Magicman, If this is causing you such discomfort, certainly you should bring it to the attention of your doctor.
