Breast Swelling

Hello,

I am a 41 year old male who just recently noticed my right breast is swollen.  Wanting to investigate I am searching for a physian.  After reading symptoms of breast cancer, I am left with the need to claify what "swelling" means.  It seems that my whole right breast is bigger.  I can not detect any large masses or lumps other than the tissue under my right nipple, which is larger than my left, in addition to the increased size of the whole breast.  When I feel them, I think they feel the same; just one seems bigger now and a little rougher.  So when the term "swelling" is used, does it apply to the whole breast, a local area, or possibly both?

Swelling is the increase in size of "whatever" you can have an area of swelling on your arm that is a lump or the entire arm may be swollen. It's a relative term. If you are searching for a Dr. .... your Primary Care physician is usually the place to start. You don't need any specific type of Physician to examine you and order any test that might be appropriate. I think you would be wise to stop reading and researching symptoms and make an appointment with your Dr. who went to Medical School for the specific purpose of diagnosis and treatment of diseases.   Rregards .....
