Breast abnormal HELP!!!

For the past year now i've had on my right breast near my areola a round dark brown circle size of 2 quaters that is scaly, flaky, and itchy. Ive put cream and baby oil but it does not go away. From time to time out of no where i get serve itchyness in that area along with the nipple (only my right breast). It gets so bad that it starts to burn me; its a horriable feeling that drive me crazy. I don't have insurance right now but soon i will and i will be making an appointment with a breast doctor. But for now can someone tell me what i am experienceing should i be aware of something or should i just take it easy, am i over reacting.

I think what you are describing may either be a fungal, or bacterial infection. If it was me, I would buy a tube of Lotrimen cream, (over the counter at drugstore/large grocery store) and apply a thin layer of the cream to the area like 2-3 times a day and after showering. (then cover the area with some gauze)If it's a fungal infection you will see/feel the results almost immediately.

if that does not work, i would switch to an over the counter antibiotic cream.

If that does not helo I would see a  doctor.

Katrin  (please let me know if this helps)

I think you might be wise to see a Dermatologist rather than a Breast Specialist OR first you might just see your Primary Care Physician. The skin on the breast is the same as skin on any other part of the body and is subject to the same problems. I would imagine the burning might come from scratching but usually if you put something cold or at least cool on the area the itching will calm somewhat. I wouldn't put too many things on the area as you might be irritating it further. There are some anti-itch creams that you can buy over the counter until you see a Dr. about this problem. You do know that you can see a DR. without having Insurance .... and make some arrangement for payment.   Regards ....
