Breast cancer or lymphoma

How can the pathologist determine the difference between breast cancer in the lymph nodes and lymphoma? Do the cancer cells present differently? Does the pathologist leave the diagnosis up to the surgeon of whether it clinical presented as breast cancer or lymphoma?

Dear MissyMouse, The pathologist examines the cells under the microscope and can differentiate between lymphoma cells and breast cancer cells. They look very different under the microscope.
