Breast itchiness and dry spot

Breast itchiness and dry spot

I had an itchy rough spot on my left nipple.  It seemed to go through stages.  First, it was normal.  Then the spot would raise.  Then it would itch uncontrollably and ooze a clear liquid. And finally, it would be a dry spot.  Then it would repeat itself again.  My gyno. sent me to a dermotologist who came me some cream.  It helped for a short time but then it came back. The dermotologist lifted the dry spot and scraped it off.  He ran tests but it did not show cancer.  Now it is doing the same thing again.  The itching escalates a few days before my period, and then the oozing (it leaves spots on my bra) and then the dry patch during my period.  I made another appointment with the dermotologist but I am very nervous about it.

Hi,

As you mention these are related to hormonal fluctuations related to your menstrual periods. The chances that this is cancer or malignant are unlikely.

You could be having some skin infection or acne etc.

It would be best to get a re-evaluation done by your dermatologist. Ask the doctor about what could be the probable diagnosis.

Keep the area clean, wear lose clothes and apply calamine lotion over the site.

Do let us know what your doctor advises.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.
