Breast redness

Breast redness

I am 36 years old and currently 5 months pregnant. I am scheduled to have an ultrasound of my left armpit in the next few weeks as I have a 2cm size round lump which my GP thinks is a cyst but wants to check. I would like to ask a question regarding breast appearance and inflammatory breast cancer. Over the past few weeks both breasts have become much larger (expected given pregnancy) and covered (very abundant) with very small blood vessels, particularly in the lower half of the breasts, which make my breasts look extremely red. There is no associated inflammation or pain, my breasts are not particularly warm althought slightly warmer than usual and the skin on both breasts is paper thin. How likely is the lump in the armpit to be connected with the redness (i.e. how likely is this to be ibc)? Are these red veins (very similar to 1000s of tiny spider veins) without other symptoms something to be concerned about or is it a normal change in pregnancy?

Many thanks in advance for your response

Dear cat13:  Inflammatory breast cancer generally appears as a swollen, red, inflammed appearing breast that is noticably warm to touch - and it is usually only one breast.  The skin often appears as red-colored orange peel - called p'eau d'orange.  However, if you are concerned have your doctor take a look.
