Breast specialist found another mass

I went to a breast specialist today and she discovered another mass.  I will be having a biopsy tomorrow.  What are the chances of having 2 benign lumps and very dense tissue not be cancer?

Hi,
Glad to know that your biopsy is done and over with.
Don't forget to apply cold compresses or ice,to minimize swelling and bruising. Also wear a good supportive bra to lessen the pain.
We will be waiting with you for hopefully a favorable outcome.
The waiting is going to be hard to bear, as it always is,but try to keep busy, busy busy...Time will seem shorter.
All the best...

Thanks for the positive thoughts.  I had a core needle biopsy done today.  I hope the results come in soon.

Just to reassure you, I've had five different lumps biopsied over the last six years and four were benign---only the last one in October '09 found LCIS. I also have very dense breast tissue, several proliferative changes, no pregnancies and a sister who died from BC before she was 51, so I'm high risk. My doctor told me she's had patients who've had seven biopsies and all were benign, so please try to stay positive. There are probalby many other women here who've had multiple biopsies and benign results. Statistically, the odds are in your favor. Even the small percentage who end up with breast cancer diagnoses have every reason to be hopeful. Most are caught at an early stage and are highly treatable. The important thing is to be vigilant, get screened and follow through on the recommendations if something unusual is found. The wait for the results is the worst, but then you have peace of mind knowing "what is" rather than worrying about "what ifs". Just try to stay positive and take one step at a time. Along with zouzi, I'm wishing you all the best!

Hi,
This could be cyst,a fibroadenoma or other benign finding. There are very good chances that lumps found in the breast are not cancerous.
If the Breast specialist found that the lump is solid,it is usually recommended to have it biopsied just to make sure that it's harmless.
I hope that everything will turn up to be just fine and that the procedure will be uneventful. You will be getting the results in a week or less, please let us know about it.I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Just a little suggestion. If you have any additional questions, please keep it on the same thread  (Use the "post a comment" below the answer you have received ) This helps to have all your information together so we can better help you.
Thank you and good luck!
