Breast swollen, nipple rettracting, red patches

by ChristineQ, Feb 23, 2007 12:00AM
I'm 36 and have had breast problems for the past 4yrs. I have fribro. breast tissue and had 13 masses removed 4 yrs ago. I went in 2 months ago for a routine (now)Mamo/ultrasound. I am showing problems again. I have a few spots of calcification in my left breast. Now they said to come back in 6 months. The past week my left breast has been feeling uncomfortable. This morning I woke up and it is swollen and lightly red around the areola. When I lift my arms the left nipple indents some. My step mom is going through chemo right now for inflammatory breast cancer. She has already had her masectomy. I'm extremly concerned. My doctor is off today through the weekend? What's your thoughts? Thank you.

I was reading your post and it sounded like what I am having. My left breast gets slightly swollen and can be red. Sometimes when I am laying down for a long period the red kind of goes away. Anyhow I have been to two breast drs and they both said they do not think it is IBC. But like you I am still very concerned. Was wondering how you made out. Please let me know
