Breast ultrasound

On 11/11/11 I had a breast ultrasound and the doctor discovered a lump and two cysts on my right breats.  He asked me to come back in 6 months.  Sometimes it hurt and lately I feel uncomfortable because the bones near my armpit sometimes hurt.  Should I be worried?  Thanks in advance.

My family has a history of cancer.  I went for tumor makers test last week and the results are ok.

Hi there,
The only thing that comes to mind,is that aside the cysts detected on your Ultrasound, the lump could be a fibroadenomas ( benign growth) that has appeared probably by an increased hormonal changes in your body.Fibroadenomas sometimes shrink or disappear on their own. These benign lumps will generally become painful and increase in size before the menstrual period and decrease afterward.
No, I don't think you should be worried about it.Just follow your doctor's  recommendation to recheck the lumps as scheduled, to see if there are any changes.
The pain in your armpit could also be due to hormonal imbalance.
In the meantime, avoiding foods and beverages containing caffeine, such as coffee, tea, chocolate and soft drinks, can decrease water retention and may help to alleviate the discomfort..Applying warm compresses to relieve uncomfortable symptoms, and wearing a bra that provides firm support could also be helpful.
All the best!
