all my researches here on pain in breast shows ppl being diagnosed with cancer..i wonder can sharp pains be a result of fibrodenma or fibrocysticFibrocystic breast disease diseases??
Hello again.
No I absolutely do not mean that it leadLead poisoning to cancer. I was just unlucky. I've had fibrocysticFibrocystic breast disease breast disease for more than 10 years. In fact most of my problems have been in my left breast - cysts, painful lumpiness, fibro adenoma etc. and my cancer was in my right breast.
My breast surgeon always told me that there is no link between benign breast conditions and cancer or between painful breasts and cancer. By the way, cancer is often painless - my tumour was completely painless.
The only possible connection is between what they call 'dense breast tissue' and cancer - they now believe that women with dense breast tissue have a higher risk.
You must see a good breast surgeon to set your mind at rest. Let us know how you get on.

Hi.
When I was in high school I found a lump on my breast. My mom took me to the doctor and they told me I had fybrocystic breast disease. The doctor spoke to my mother, but I never found out WHAT it is or what was going to happen to me.
Now Im 19 and living in a new state. Im noticing pain. In my nipple mainly. Its a stinging pain and Im curious if its because of FBD? I was never put on any medication. They simply told me what it was and that was it. My mom never spoke to me about it at all. I dont know if the pain in my breast is normal? or if it is somthing else? I rarely have it..but when I do it is very hard to ignore. Im confused and now a little scared after reading some other posts on what it is. Can anyone help?
Hi, I've had extremely dense breasts and fibrocystic breast disease since I was in my late teens, and I am now 46. Off and on over the years, it has been painful, especially around hormonal fluctuations, and consuming too much sodium, msg, and caffeine. Anything that caused water retention gave me pain, and sometimes, the pains were sharp.
During times I have found specific lumps, some were painful and some were not. I have had 5 excisonal biopsies/lumpectomies over the years, and all were benign...and at the time of this writing, I am still cancer-free. I believe the main reason that women with dense breasts are at higher risk for cancer is because the dense tissue is more difficult palpate for lumps and abnormalities, and also to visualize on X-ray.
It is very important to have your breasts checked by an MD, and to have mammograms according to your MD recommendations and with your family history in mind. Kind regards...
But you MUST get checked out to make sure.
Best wishes
what were the signs and symptoms?
