CPR after a bilateral mastectomy

CPR after a bilateral mastectomy

I was told that CPR training following a Radical Bilateral mastectomy was contraindicated.  I am looking for some resource or reference so that I can show my employer for a medical exclusion from the training.  Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

I would think that your surgeon could give you a doctors note excusing you from the CPR training.   Your upper body will be in no condition to mimic chest compressions.  I took CPR training 3 months after my bilateral mastectomy, and I found it very uncomfortable.   Talk with your surgeon to give you a medical excuse.  Your employer won't have a choice to dismiss you and reschedule you for another date.
Good luck and best wishes!
