Can I have Breast Cancer???

Im 27 years old and have been having a lot of pain in my left breast close to my armpit. I have had this pain for a month or two, I havent gone to a dr yet because I wanted to see if it had anything to do with my menstrual cycle. The pain doesn get worse a few weeks before but I have noticed it never goes away. The pain is in one spot and if i touch it it hurts worse I have also noticed that my left nipple has a little less color to it then normal.  I cant tell if there is a lump or if its just the tissue in my breast.I have heard that pain in the breast is not a sign of cancer.. how true is that and should I be worried??? No one in my family has ever had breast cancer.

You should probably have it checked out. One of my daughters had a similar problem, thought the worst, but the doctor told her she had a pulled muscle.

It's true that pain and breast cancer are rarely related. I won't say whether you should be worried or not but I will say that you should have gone to the Dr. several weeks ago for an exam and any testing that may be appropriate. Any time there is something new and different involving the breast you should make an appointment and have it checked out. The wait and see attitude is NOT a good thing under any circumstances. Whatever it is deserves some treatment so make that appointment !! Regards ....
