Can longer term tamoxifen cause peripheral neuropathy?

After a year on Tamoxifen, I developed tingling in toes and feet. I discontinued for 8 months, practically no improvement so I started it again.  After approx. 6 weeks of starting again,  I have tingling in calfs as well as feet. I have discontinued again. doctors find no cause and I'm not on any other meds. I'm not finding information on my condiditon and wondering if others have experienced it.

Yes,unfortunately it does...including joint pain and many other unwanted symptoms.
Talk to your Oncologist about taking vitamin B12 for the Neuropathy,because I heard that it can help some women.
Peripheral neuropathy can also be caused by other health problems unrelated to Tamoxifen,since you felt no improvement after you stopped Tamoxifen for 8 months.
If you have had Chemotherapy,it could also be causing the symptoms you have described.
I hope that your Oncologist is in agreement with you about the decision to stop and restart Tamoxifen,because this drug has been proven to lessen considerably the risk of breast cancer recurrence and the development of a new cancer.
