Cancer- Her2Ne +

I had a double Mastecomy - T2, No,MX - ER-, PR-, Her2 1HC 3+ - (tumor 2.5cm greatest dimension) - according the my path report..... after surgery my breast surgen told me I would receive chemo and herceptin - then I had my appt with my oncologist - and he said he disagreed with the path report and labeled me T1a No (0/3) Her-2 neg
My question is - I had the mastecomy on 6-5-08 with another surgery on 6-26-08 because they did not receive a clean margin, and then received no treatment.  I went for a 2nd opinion this week (8-17-09) and the onocologist I see now wants to have their pathologist reexamin the tumor slides, and if they agree with the original path report - she is recommending chemo and herceptin.  She did tell me that I should have received the treatement within 3 months - but that studies have shown benefits even a year out....  What treatment if any would you recommend.

Dear mdm6310, We cannot give specific treatment recommendations through this forum.  Without access to the reports, pathology etc. it is impossible to make recommendations.  It makes sense to follow through with the recommendations of pathology review - to confirm the findings, as there is such a difference between what you've reported as the surgeon's and 1st oncologist's evaluation of the pathology findings.

Thanks for you comments - I feel certain the 1st oncologist did not want to provide the treatment due to the costs of Herceptin....  I just hope with it being 13 months out - that the treatment is not too late to have an affect.  Do you know of any studies on Chemo and Herceptin over a year post surgery?
