Changes to Nipples

Hi,
I'm a 52 year old who has recently noticed a sudden change to my right nipple in that it will go flat and stay like it for ages. I've just seen a consultant who was very abrupt, dismissing it as normal, but why would this suddenly happen? My mammogram was clear and the ultrasound showed 'thick fluid' in the ducts and one enlarged duct. Should I be treated for this? Is this fluid what's causing the nipple to flatten? Could this be the start of IBC? Help!

I would agree with the Dr.s and the Mammograms. The ductal problem could be responsible for the change in the appearance of your nipple. Clogged milk ducts are a rather common problem. You might consider seeing a Breast Speialist for some treatment if you aren't comfortable with the opinion of your Dr. Ductal lavage can be done and the ducts can even be removed surgically if necessary. A second opinon might help ease your mind regarding this problem.  Regards ....
