Chronic Granulomatous Mastitis

I was diagnosed with Chronic Granulomatous Mastitis 3 weeks ago.  Undergone an excision biopsy with frozen section last week.  My surgeon suspects Tuberculosis as the cause of my illness and today I started taking meds for TB.  Is there a similar diagnosis/treatment as mine?

Hi Working Mom -

GM can indeed by caused by TB, however there are also many cases of Idiopathic GM (no known cause) - and info on the disease in general is pretty sparse I am afraid.

I see you have joined us on the GM support group here - please post on our support site there, most of us are quite informed about the disease now, and can certainly assist you with symptom relief and general support.

Best Wishes
