Complex Cyst

Yesterday I had a biopsy of a complex cyst.  I would like to know what a "complex cyst" is and what is the possibility that it may be malignant.  Any information concerning this cyst would be helpful.

Dear Nancy Jane:  A complex cyst is a cyst (fluid filled mass) that has septations (or areas of solid structure) within it.  While a simple cyst is by definition benign, those cysts with solid structures are sometimes biopsied to be certain that the solid components are not cancerous.  We cannot speculate on how likely this is to be malignant.  A biopsy is the only way to know.  Sincerely, Staff of chemocare.com
