Complex Cysts

I am 32 and I just had an mammogram and ultrasound for what I thought was a lump turned out to be normal tissue. But 3 cysts were found one 3cm but is simple and has not changed since my last ultrasound 6 months ago. Other two were 1 was 1 cm complex and 4 mm complex.  I insisted on FNA for the two complex, the dr did not think it was necessary. Well they were able to aspriate the 1 cm but the radioloigist was shocked by all the blood! She said she had never seen this before and really really scared me,  The cyst did drain completed but when then went to aspirate the smaller one the first one had already completely filled up again in seconds.  Well I just got the pathology report on larger one and all is normal and the dr is now saying she must have hit a blood vessel but she would only recommend watching the smaller one, every six months for 2 yrs that is their standard course of action for all complex cysts . Also the smaller one is  right beside the one they were able to aspirate. Is this correct? or should I get a second opinion?  She always said that since the other one came back normal it is more likely they are both made of the same fluid and because they are so close to each other and look very similar.  I want to get pregant so I don't want to have to worry about this all the time and wait 2 yrs. The Dr said she doesn't see anything that would stop her from going on with any plans like a new baby. What is your advice?

Hi,
Simple cysts(fluid filled sacs) have virtually no chance of containing malignancy. They do not need to be aspirated, unless they are causing discomfort.
Complex cysts,on the other hand, can be filled with debris and may sometimes require aspiration to confirm that they are indeed benign cysts.
It is important to understand that complex cystic breast malignancies are extremely rare, and usually have other features, which are obviously malignant. The vast majority of complex cysts are due to fibrocystic changes. The condition is very common and benign and affects women between the ages of 30 and 50 and tends to become less of a problem after menopause.
Your doctor is right wanting to monitor the smaller complex cyst at a regular basis. That is the standard procedure to make sure that there are no changes.
Unfortunately there isn't much one can do about these cysts, many young women have this problem and I don't see any inconvenience whatsoever if you are planning to start a family.
Try to cut down your caffeine intake(Coffee, chocolate, colas) It can help a great deal.
Wishing you all the best...
