Unfortunately, you are far from alone! Below is the link to one recent related thread, and if you enter Transflap complications or Transflap and hernias in the "Search this community" box near the top of the column to the right of this  posting area, I'm sure you find many, many more. (Seems like we have a couple every month..)

Nancy,

You have every right to ask for a copy of your medical and surgical records and they must give them to you.

If I didn't get a compassionate and reasonable response to my questions I would certainly get a second opinion. I hate to say it but I would change doctors. I wish I could help you.

The reason I asked about the mesh is that is the cause of a LOT of pain and issues ... something I'd check into.

Best wishes.

Thank you!
The Diep was a thing of the future when I had my Transflap. Actually I was part of the "NEW "Transflap option 11 years ago. Alot has changed since then. My Doctor has not been forth coming with any information . My Husband  thinks he used to be a used car salesman .

OOo... I mentioned the general surgery because the hernia will receive more replies than tram flap with painful hernia repair

I hate to say it but you may get a better response from a general surgery forum than this one. I had DIEP instead of TRAM to keep my muscle in tact.

Do you know what they used to repair your hernia? Do you have mesh? And, what has your doctor said when you asked that question?
