Complications of Taxotere

by Kawe, Apr 09, 2008 07:58AM
I had taxotere which discoloured my skin and nails. I checked the web for pictures but couldn't find any as bad as my nails. They are very dark and have begin to fall out. My doctor has discussed it with a Specialist Nurse/Chripodist who advised that I should just keep trimming. I understand that its not advisable to wear nail polish or acylic nails but they are not feminine at all. Could you advise me on any other recommendations that has been proven.

Thanks

Hi,

Taxotere is known to cause nail changes as a side effect - this is one of the commoner side effects of taxotere seen in about 30% cases.

The nail changes are reversible and generally the nails will grow back normally after treatment with taxotere is completed.

Let us know if you have any other doubts.

Regards.
