Concerned..

Last year I had 2 mammograms done, one in April and one in November. I was diagnosed with a tumor a little bit lower then my axillary. The tumor has been diagnosed to be benign, and my question is.. can this tumor raise my chances to develop breast cancer? It bothers me to sleep, and can this tumor turn into a malignancy?

You aren't very specific about the type of tumor except that it's benign. I'm going to take a guess that it may be a Fibroadenoma ??? If this is true then it can be either left alone OR it can be removed surgically if it causes you trouble. They do not turn into cancer and if you only have one or two they don't increase you risk of developing breast cancer. When a person has multiple Fibroadenomas or Complex tumors then there is a very slight increased risk over a lifetime.  If it bothers you a great deal then see a Surgeon for his/her opinion on having it removed.   Regards .....

Yes.. thanks. It's been bothering my lately - it does NOT let me sleep! I'm going to a surgeon pretty soon.. and see what I can do about it.

Honestly, I'll prefer them removing it.
