Confused, and worried

A month ago I had a mammogram. There were some calcification's on my mammogram so I was sent to see a surgeon. The surgeon told me she was quite concerend about the calcifications had enlarged so much since my last mammogram. When I was sent the results of my last mamogram they said it was normal. The surgeon scheduled a biopsy in three weeks. The day before the biopsy she called me and said she talked to the radiologist, and he recommemended a follow up mammogram in six monthes instead of a biopsy. The surgeon said one film was supisious, but the other criteria looked begnign, so she canelled the biopsy. And scheduled a mammogram in six monthes. I don't know if I shouled trust this, or if I should get a second opinion.

Forget the tie-breaker!!!!  I also had calcifications with a radiologist that questioned them.  They said to wait 6 months.  I did not.  I had a biopsy and DCIS was found.  I had a lump. and radiation.  My advice...be safe and get in there.DONT WAIT!!!

Dear Carian, If you are concerned you could take your actual mammogram films to another surgeon for a second opinion.  They can give you their opinion regarding whether to do something now or wait the 6 months, a tie-breaker for you.
