Constant Burning Pain on Right Side

I have buring pain in right breast that goes right through around center of back.  GYN dr. found a lump which I am scheduled for an ultrasound and possible biopsy this week.  Burning pain is unbearable and is constant which keeps me up all night long.  What could this be?

I went to my appointment yesterday.  I had a mammogram and two ultrasounds.  No lump detected.  I find this good news but very odd.  I then was sent over to the hospital to radiology where they took about 12 x-rays of my problem area.  I won't get my x-ray results until Friday or Monday so I have some more waiting to do.  I still think that my burning pain is possibly my gallbladder.  If I eat something that is fatty or not healthy then I have the burning pain more.  It still comes and goes thoughout the day with no reason.  Again, very uncomfortable.  I just want to get some answers.  My body is telling me something is no right.  I don't feel like I am dying but somethis is absolutely wrong.

Thank you for the reply.  I had a mammogram completed in March 2010.  I was called back as they found cysts in my right breast.  I was cleared and nothing came of it.  The burning pain has been going on for about a little over 1-year.  I told my PCP and he said it could be a nerve or pulled muscle (this was last year).  I just saw his last week and he did not seem alarmed about this and sent me to my GYN.  I went to my GYN dr. and he found the lump.  I am 45 years old.  I also have lower right abdomen pain that also goes around to my back.  I am schedule to have a hysteroscopy done in early December.  I cannot live with the burning pain too much longer.  It is so uncomofrtable it actually feels like somebody is putting a match to my skin and burning me.  Strangest thing ever.  I questioned doctors about it possibly being my gallbladder and my PCP said that he doesn't think so.  I just want to avoid a battery of unnecessary tests.  I was told that maybe the lump is on my nerve and this is the cause of my pain?  Can't wait to find out.  I'll keep you posted.

The type of pain you describe is rarely, if ever, associated with breast cancer. There are benign findings that can cause breast pain though and I'm sure you will have the answer when you have your Ultrasound. In the meantime you might take some "over the counter" pain medication if you need some relief (something that you would take for a headache, etc.). You don't state your age but you might also have a Mammogram if the Ultrasound doesn't show a clear picture.   Regards ...
