Coral Calcium

Sir - I have breast cancer.  I've heard a lot about Coral Calcium being some benefit for cancer, then others say it contains a lot of lead and mercury and not to take it.  If you are aware of this product, do you think this is just another gimmick and do you think it is safe to take.  Thank you.

Dear Napolean, The majority of information that I find regarding coral calcium is pretty much limited to the information through sites promoting the product.  

However, I did find a good general article on the prevention.com website by a registered dietician discussing coral calcium and supplements in general.  This may be helpful in your determining whether this is something you should pursue. Another word of advise regarding this or any other supplements or over-the-counter products you are considering taking - be sure to check with your doctor to make sure there is nothing known about the product that might interfere with other medications or be contraindicated in your particular situation.
