Could I have breast cancer?

Hi,
I recently had twins in january. I also have a two and a half yr old. I was doing a self breast exam and noticed a large lump in my right breast. I already have had a cyst for 4 yrs in my left breast that doctors ae not concerned about. It feels different than the cyst and is huge in comparison. I did not breast feed my twins. I noticed that after i had my twins my tempeture tolerance has changed. Even before I had children I have always be "hot natured" Now I am cold all the time. I also noticed today of low grade fever even though I am not seemingly sick but am going to monitor it. My pap test came back positive but my ob said there were only a few cells so make sure to come back at one year for checkup. I screened negative for the HPV virus so they are ruling out cervical problems/cancer.

Could any of this be related or am I just being alittle paranoid. I recently had to drop my health insurance becasue my husband is self emplyed and just cant afford the $700 a month for us both. Going to look into other insurance for just myself.

Lump, fever, cold feeling, positive pap test....breast cancer? what can I do not having health insurance? I live in orange county, CA ...anybody know of place I can get free mamogram (mammogram) of free physical?

Thanks for any info,
m

Hi,
Every new lump detected in the breast should be promptly checked out by a medical professional regardless if previously you were diagnosed with a simple cyst which is almost always benign in nature.Unless this new lump is tested,no one can be sure of what it could be.
It's not unusual that you feel cold when you have a fever. The first thing that comes to mind is that it could be a breast infection called mastitis that most commonly occur one to three months after the delivery of a baby, but it can occur in women who have not recently delivered as well as in women who are not breast feeding. This condition definitely requires treatment.
I don't think that your breast issue is related to your gynecological problem, but if there is even a very slight possibility, then it should be one more reason to seek medical evaluation.

If you have no insurance, please try calling these places.
1)The American Cancer Society. They can tell you what resources are available in your area. Toll-free: 1-800-ACS-2345.

2)The United States Government’s National Cancer Institute can direct you to a local resource for free mammograms/Ultrasound. Call them toll-free at 1-800-4-CANCER
