Cysts

I am a 45 yr old white women 36 DD 5"6" 147 lbs, not over weight, and have been seeing the Dr. for the past 4 yrs to have cysts (between 4-9)removed from both breast by needle.I have mamograms every 6 mos to 1 yr.My last visit I inquired about an alternative to this problem,my alternative is to continue my visits every 3-4mos or have a bi-lateral mascectomy, drastic.My last visit was 2 wks ago I am so dense the Dr. bent the needle trying to remove one and says his concern is the dense.Within 1 1/2 wks the cysts are back in my left side.The cysts are always in the same area of both breasts.I have an appt. this week again for the returning cysts and an appt.w/ the plastic surgen to discuss the above referenced.I have so many questions.Because of my size and the dense of the breast would it be possible to have a reduction/up-lift to reduce the dense and have added support?My sister @ age 40 had breast duct cancer.I inquired about the genitic testing however because she will not have the test done so they say it is not worth it for me to have it done?Can just the area the cysts keep popping up in be removed?  Thank you for your time...

Dear LAC:  If these are known to be cysts, the reason to aspirate them is to be sure they are not obscuring something else.  Most women have one or two cysts and that's it.  Others will keep getting cysts until menopause. Reducing or eliminating caffiene may reduce them.  You should discuss surgical possibilities with your plastic surgeon.  If you are prone to cysts, surgery is not necessarily a solution. A reduction mammoplasty may be one way to achieve easier monitoring and less discomfort but won't necessarily solve the cyst problem.  A bilateral mastectomy seems extreme but it is an option, I suppose.

I would like to add I have tried no caffine, chocholate and  primrose up to 10 pills a day for awhile and none of this seems to work.
