Didnt give me enough information w//results

Hello... I had a mammogram done 2 1/2 weeks ago (thinking since I hadnt heard anything, it was fine). Then, I get a letter in the mail stating..."shows a possible finding that requires additional imagining studies for a complete evaluation. Most such findings are probably benign.' Sounds like I need to reschedule something right away!

My dr office said that they wanted to see something questionable on my left breast. They did not say that in my report. No lumps are felt and Ive looked hard. Nervous about this and lack of information.

Thank you

Hi there,
It is not unusual for a “spot” to show up on a mammogram.  When this happens, a spot compression is generally recommended to further characterize what the “spot” might be.  A spot compression is a mammogram that focuses in on the area of concern.  Sometimes, it is as simple as tissue folding over on itself on the initial mammogram and this will smooth out on spot compression.  If the spot persists, further evaluation may be required
Best wishes for a benign result....
